Frankie Archer has exploded onto the electrofolk scene with music that transcends stereotypes using a combination of manipulated samples, synths, drum tracks and earthy Northumbrian fiddle and voice to capture her audience.

Her aim? To shake up genres and traditions, challenge perspectives and call for a fairer future.

Winner of the 2023 Christian Raphael Prize, Frankie has been featured on ‘Later... With Jools Holland’ and championed by tastemakers at BBC Radio 2 and 6Music. Following the release of her debut EP ‘Never So Red’ (November, 2023), she has supported the likes of Futureheads and The Last Dinner Party.

With her unique live set turning heads wherever she goes, Frankie is quickly establishing herself as “one to watch” in the alternative space.

Laura Quirke and Claire Kinsella’s collaboration charms audiences into a world of intimate observations and uncomfortable questions with irresistible chemistry, charisma, and humour. ‘Why are all the good men, too old, taken or dead?’

The rare alchemy of the duo’s voices together cuts through a minimal and dramatic soundscape; coloured by the warmth and grit of Kinsella’s Cello, and distinctly underpinned by Quirke’s cyclical, trance-like guitar playing. While embedded in Irish and Folk roots, Lemoncello’s sound embraces the freedom of carving out its own song structures, entwined with a love of off-kilter Indie Pop, Jazz extemporisation and Romantic and Contemporary Classical music.

Ollie Spalding and Jack Watts were friends first, and songwriting partners second, and this quality sets them apart.

They’re marked by that peculiar alchemy when two voices become one, a special sense of human connection wrought through harmony and emboldened with experience.

New album 'Redsetter’ is their coming-of-age moment–gilded indie-folk with an optimistic sense of maturity, it dares to look towards the light.

WIGHT BEAR SUMMER OF LOVE - RAISING MONEY FOR AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL

This summer we will be raising money for Amnesty International right across May, June, July and August with 4 key events and series of Wight Bear style initiatives to support Amnesty International in their work to protect people wherever Justice, Freedom, Truth & Dignity are denied.

Collections will be held at events and 10% of proceeds from tickets sales will be donated to the charity. The charity will also receive 50p per sale of a exclusive button badge set priced at £3.50.

Sundays at The Wight Bear and our Troubadour Sessions where we try to take away any worries you’ve carried with you throughout the week..Elkyn was the perfect tonic his delicate and broken vocal sound alongside his guitar picking and ambient laptop sound bed brought a breathless silence to The Wight Bear leaving everyone with a gentle smile..we love Elkyn.

Two crackling half hour sets with a short break for everyone to catch a breath…I wish the video below could do it justice but its one of those afternoons when you just had to be there….Sundays just went big.

The Chinwag Community Club sees off September with an exceptional Soul set from Kevin Mac…Sundays Fundays as its been described an afternoon of Soul, Food, Shuffle and Chinwag….Chef Jonnie Day again delivering the goods as Louisiana Slow Braised Ribs, Charcoal Grits and Dirty Rice filled the plates..back the last Sunday of every month.

25/9/21 - SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE - THE KINGS OF WONDERLAND

Electric guitars fizz in the room as Kings Of Wonderland build the night with a collection of country soul original songs, Davids gravely vocal delivers delicate lyrics against a backdrop of Neils psychedelic guitar rifts engage the room and build an atmosphere that explodes at the end with the room on fire.

A room captivated from the moment Carley Varley took to the floor, with her stunning interpretations of The Cranberries Zombie to Amy Winehouse Back To Black, mixed up with original songs written about her journey through life, we were all privileged this afternoon.
