Definition of the event: The Bear Beer Run is a "sportive" non timed, non competitive 5 kilometre fun run starting and finishing at The Wight Bear Ale House.

Entry: Entrants must purchase tickets via the website at a price of £10 per entrant. The total number of entrants per event is limited to 50. The entrance fee includes the following:

A drink at the halfway point (soft drink or beer/cider)

A pint of beer (or cider or medium glass of house wine) on completion of the run

A pork pie (or scotch egg or vegetarian quiche) on completion of the run

A small donation from the fee will be made to The Wave Project

Entrants will be required to stipulate their food preference at the time of purchase.

An email will be sent to confirm payment. A subsequent email will be sent with your registration number. Please retain this email for use on the day. On the day you will be issued with a wristband that confirms your entry and registration number and entitles you to the halfway drink and the food and drink on completion of the run, so don't lose it!

Mechanics: On the day registration will take place inside The Wight Bear from 10am until 10.45am, so please ensure you allow enough time and bring your proof of entry (sent via email) either as a paper copy or on your mobile 'phone. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer that you are fit to run. Plenty of water will be available to get yourself hydrated! A briefing will be given before the run starts on the ringing of the bell at 11am. A drink will be available at the halfway point for all entrants. On returning to The Wight Bear please redeem your wristband for your pre-ordered food and a drink of your choice (see above). Stay and enjoy all The Wight Bear has to offer.

Things to remember: This is a non-competitive, non-timed social fun-run. Entrants with dogs or young children will be asked to start from the back and please keep them within arms reach! We will be using public pavements, roads and the prom so please be fully aware of your surroundings and be courteous to other users. We will set out markers on the day and issue the route map nearer to the date. There will be spot prizes on the day so listen carefully to the pre-run briefing.

Refunds: We cannot be expected to arrange perfect weather so in the event of it being a complete wash-out we will either re-arrange the date or offer a refund if you cannot make the new date. We will make a decision at 9am on the day in the event of a cancellation. No other refund will be available.

Data: Entrants will be required to complete a contact form when applying for the tickets. All data captured will not be passed to third parties and will be stored in accordance with current GDPR rules. We may wish to contact you with specific regard to further running events in the future and by agreeing to these terms and conditions allow us (The Wight Bear Ale House) to do so.
